Wabi-sabi is a Japanese aesthetic that finds beauty in imperfection. It encourages individuals to value the charm of things that are incomplete, flawed, or unfinished.
Wet felting perfectly embodies wabi-sabi because its process is unpredictable, resulting in unique imperfections. The final outcome is always a surprise, which adds to its allure.
This creation originated from an old vessel that I took apart and reassembled using silk remnants. I appreciate how the original vessel's imperfections contribute to the beauty of this new piece.
